Christmas Day

Our day started early with Pioneer Woman monkey bread and unwrapping presents under our own tree at home. As little toes in cute festive pajamas rounded the corner, they were so excited to tear into their gift. The girls received one gift from us, they each have their own Bitty Baby.  They loved their American Girl dolls. Mary Charlotte's red headed baby is named "Baby Margaret." I think that came from the show Daniel Tiger and E named her baby "Kate". We were pleased with those choices! It's been so fun watching them feed and change their babies.

Later on in the day, we arrived at Grandma Baker's house. The rain and playing did E in, so I stayed with her in the van for a few minutes as she finished her nap. Thankful I let her sleep because the rest of the day was much smoother! It gave me a chance to watch her sleep and take in a precious moment with one of my sweet babies. So thankful for the gift of a noisy house and full heart this Christmas. Merry Christmas to all from the Beard babies!

Illinois Christmas

The girls had a wonderful second Christmas! We started with an early Christmas in Illinois with Grandma, Grandpa, Great Grandma Golda, Uncle Darren, Aunt Denise, and cousins Davis & Denae. The girls loved opening presents this year and were so excited to get new sparkly clothes, Leap pads, puzzles, kitchen toys and of course, the red wagon! Davis and Denae were so sweet to them and gave them countless wagon and car rides. It was good to be home.

December Days

December was a busy month around here! We were so glad to have Doc and Debbie from Henderson come to visit. We played lots, ate lots, and enjoyed our time together.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This was our year to be in Illinois for Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful visit. Mom outdid herself and made LOTS of food! The girls loved their personalized train cookies and J loved his peaches and cream early birthday cake. The cars came inside because the weather was a little rainy. Dad bought the girls a HUGE coloring book, which was a HUGE hit. In fact, after seeing how longed they were entertained with it, we decided to go buy two for church. Wish we would have known this a long time ago because they've never been better during a service. They made it the whole time with no tears and and no nursery time. We visited with Becky and Jared, life-long friends and their three sweet kiddos and even got to eat Chico's and Pizza Man, my favorite local dives. Old friends are the best...we always pick up right where we leave off and the laughs are endless! The girls also got to see Grandma Golda. They loved her walker and tried to run away with it any chance they got.

I'm reading a book called, One Thousand Gifts, that a sweet friend loaned me. My favorite quote so far is, "The greatest thing is to give thanks for everything." I love how the author talks about how true joy begins with thankfulness. A good reminder for me and hopefully you too. So many blessings and things to be thankful for this year. Happy Thanksgiving to our loved ones near and far. Love and hugs from the Beards!
