13 Months

Dear Elizabeth,
Thirteen months and we can't imagine life without you. We love the way you say, "Tssss" and wave your hands back and forth. You love for us to do "tickle monster" with you. You could look at books for hours and not even notice anyone around you. You fold your hands when it's time to pray and you can say baby, Mama, Dada, and bye-bye. You can "sing" and love to watch Sesame Street. You hold your lovie and suck your left two fingers when you get sleepy. You wake up every time we sneak in your room to cover you up. You laugh so hard when we do a "pony girl" ride. You are scared of loud things or new things and you are cautious but also personable when meeting new people. Each time we take you to Dr. Smeltzer, you cry. I think his goatee scares you. You like remote controls and cell phones and can put letters in cupcake pans while you "count." You also like to use pink plastic spoons and white plastic bowls to "stir" with. Sometimes when you get really quiet, I'll come find you and you'll have the pea in the pod baby in your hand or the tiny elephant puppet and you will be singing while swaying your toy from side to side. Another time when you get really quiet is when your fingers have found the toilet bowl water. You love to splash in there and think it's so much fun to watch that nasty ole water move. We love you, precious baby. These moments are slipping away too soon, Elizabug. Thank you for being such a sweet baby girl, our "Baby A".

Dear Mary Charlotte,
You have made each day of the last thirteen months so much fun. We love the way you laugh and smile when you get tickled about something. We love how when we say, "Awww, sweet baby," you'll lay your head down on us. You say "bye-bye" as fast as you can and go on your way as if you are too busy to stop and look. You are brave and never afraid of anything! This includes drinking glasses, the dishwasher and the birthday candle that you almost grabbed. You are as tough as nails because when you fall, you'll be upset for a minute, but then smile with those bottom two teeth and we know you'll be alright. When I peak into your room during nap time, you are playing with Froggy and Clifford and eventually get so sleepy you fall face forward, with your bottom in the air to finish your nap. You hate bananas, but love grapes, graham crackers, scrambled eggs and marshmallows. You look so determined when sipping from your sippy cup and I can't help but chuckle when you cross your eyes as you hold your cup up. You shake your head no when we ask you to say yes and we love to watch you shake your booty each time one of your toys plays a tune. You've got the beat, MC! You like the "pat, pat" song and look so proud when you clap your hands or pop your mouth.  We love you so much, honey and are so thankful God shared you with us, our "Baby B."

Snow Days, Cozy Days

Thank you Sally, Abby, and Emma for inspiring me to get back to blogging! Sorry it's been a few days, we've been being lazy and having lots of fun family time. I was truly excited when I found out Jason had this past Monday off for President's Day (still can't remember we have a state employee instead of a private practice lawyer), but it got even better once we realized one extra day might turn into two or three days due to icy Tennessee roads. This weekend, we realized the girls' toes were smushed up in their not-so-old shoes so after a trip to see Buffalo Bill and Calamity Jane at the downtown library, we headed to Green Hills for some new Mary Janes. We stocked up on the typical snow storm goodies including milk and bread and settled in for a long winter's chill. I hope you and your family are safe and warm during these snowy days. Hot pink toenails and sand will hopefully come soon! Love and hugs from Nashville!
