Grandma and Grandpa's House

Daddy went to DC, so Mommy and the girls went to Illinois for a few days. The girls have had so much fun. Going for stroller rides, visiting the park, eating whatever they want and playing with new toys to name a few highlights. They also loved swimming in warm pool water (thanks Grandpa). Grandma even got them to eat green beans (thanks to her and the bacon). The past two Augusts have been my favorite ever. We are enjoying no school schedules and Mommy has no more Sunday sadness! We are very thankful for this time.  Love and hugs from the Beard babies!

19 Months

Where do the seconds, minutes, hours, and days go? I'm pretty sure it was yesterday they were tiny and swaddled with three pounds of cuddles, coos, and an occasional smile. Now they are nineteen months-walking, talking, smiling, screaming and have become little people. God must turn up the speed dial on time when children are born. I used to think the concept of eternity was incomprehensible, (and I still do) but after these little ones were born, I see more and more how our time and His time are so different and hard for the human mind to fathom. I thought of the verse, 2 Peter 3:8, this morning. "But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day." This thought makes me stop and consider how I'm using each moment with them. Lord, help me give them the roots to grow and the wings to fly. I pray for a pure and innocent heart as they have. Funny how a person can learn so much from another that has only been here such a short amount of time!
These past few days have been busy with visits from loved ones. Memphis came to us, Henderson came to us and Salem came to us within a few days time. We loved seeing everyone. Melissa, Joseph, Archie, Courtney, Doug, Adlee, and Nora all came to visit Amy and us the last part of July. We also visited with Doc and Debbie as well as my parents. So thankful our girls have such amazing people to love, learn from, and grow up around.

Nineteen Months

Dear Elizabeth,
You love to say "Shhh" with your finger in your mouth when someone is sleeping. You eat avacados and chips like you are starving and on your last meal! You sometimes throw little tantrums if we say no and you like to hold lovey closely during nap time. Wiggles and Sesame Street are your favorite shows and you like to sit on Daddy's lap to read books. You get to turn all the pages and love to say the names of things you see. Barn, monkey, bird, and bunny are a few of your favorites. Your walking has improved so much with your little pink shoes and we are so proud of the progress you are making. You get mad when bath time is over and also when you fall. You love dunking the washcloth and slinging it at Sissy.  You are happiest when we are singing and walking down the sidewalk. Your big blue eyes and long eyelashes melt our heart. You laugh when we tickle you and give you butterfly kisses. You will snuggle with us for a long time and you love to sit in the rocking chair in your room with a bunch of books. We love you, Elizabug. Happy 19 months, sweetheart!

Dear Mary Charlotte,
I'll never forget the way you run and giggle when we call for you. You love to play hide-and-seek and you are the most helpful little one I think I've ever seen! With just a bit of praise, you put your books back on the shelf, pat sissy, and "help" Mommy with laundry. You like to get up and down on the couch by yourself and you love to hold two of everything. Two purses, two babies, two remote controls and two crackers. "WOW!" is your favorite expression right now, although, "ABC," "Up we go," and "BOOM," are phrases we hear often. It seems like you understand everything we say. When I ask you to get a specific item, like Brown Bear, most of the time you get it with no trouble. Putting on Mommy's jewelry and playing with a spoon and bowl are your favorite activities. You love to spin around and give high-fives several times during the day. You just started kissing us and squeezing our necks when we ask for hugs. You put your cup on the table and love to give everyone their shoes. You are so proud when you put your "baba" back in your crib when you wake up. You are Daddy's girl and you are definitely on his "top two" favorite redheads list. We love you, little peanut. Keep growing and loving more each day. Happy 19 months, MC!
