Easter Eggs, Bubbles, Horses, and Big Girl Class

These past few days have been full of firsts for our girls. On the Saturday before Easter, we spent the afternoon at the Beard Farm hunting for Easter eggs, riding a horse, and catching bubbles. The big cousins hunted in a big field using the four wheelers and the babies were inside hunting eggs on a comfy rug. They started out a little slow, but as soon as Mary Charlotte discovered the puffs inside she became much more interested! We spread a quilt out and enjoyed the bubble maker Mimi bought for all the babies. The girls loved watching them float away. Our girls got to ride Trigger, the horse, after all the hunting and eating was finished. Trigger was a horse from Jason's childhood that he raced on,  so it was so special that our girls along with G-Daddy got to put these babies on top for a ride. Mary Charlotte felt the mane and loved every minute. Elizabeth, on the other hand, was a little scared at first and unsure if equestrianism is for her! 

The girls second Easter Sunday was a little bittersweet. It was their last Sunday school class in the nursery with the other babies. Starting next Sunday, they will be in the big girl one-year-old class. No more rocking chairs and baby talk for them! We are excited about seeing their growth, but we may have had a tear or two in our eyes as we left them in there for the last time! They have been such a blessing to our family and girls. We are so thankful for Ms. Melinda, Mrs. Carolyn, Mrs. Brenda, and Mrs. Debbie.

Spring has Sprung!

We are so glad Spring is here! The middle Tennessee hills are turning green and colorful blooms and buttercups are everywhere. Our March didn't start out that pretty though!  We started out a little green on St. Patrick's Day as we all got the stomach bug and then Jason was in D.C. on a business trip for a week. Shoo, that was hard, but we made it thanks to Di Pie coming down and helping us out. Unfortunately, she got it too. We are all about sharing around here!

We tried out a new little pizza dive in Germantown Friday  night. The girls loved it and Mommy and Daddy did too! Pizza 312 made me feel closer to my roots as their specialty is Chicago style pizza. It was supper yummy and I highly recommend it! We took the girls to their first birthday party this past weekend as well. It was in Brentwood and in a beautiful setting, complete with a petting zoo! The girls got to see and "pet" a kangaroo, piglets, bunnies, goats, and lambs. Mary Charlotte was all about it and Elizabeth was much more timid and started groaning anytime we got near a living creature! So funny to see how different they are, same genes, same environment, same 7.5 months in the womb, and yet totally  different little personalities! 

We love the Nashville pedestrian bridge. We tried it out a few days ago and loved seeing the city from a different view. If you are visiting, it's a great place for a Saturday morning walk.

A big thank you to Aunt Denise! She's made so many cute outfits for the girls! We love getting our special packages in the mail. As you can see below, she dressed us in green for St. Patrick's Day, which was our original due date last March.

Blue Dresses

This past weekend, Jason kept the girls so I could go back to Memphis and have a spa day with my girlfriends. It was so much fun to go back and catch up with them. While I was there, I visited a friend that has twin girls. She let me look through and buy smocked handmade dresses her girls have outgrown. We wore the light blue dresses the next day for church. We feel so blessed she shared these with us. We've always admired their girls and family and are so excited to be wearing their special dresses!
