Sweet Sweet Summertime

Summertime is always busy and I didn't realize how much so until I looked at the last post! Sorry it's been awhile. I think I might be better at living it than documenting it all. The girls have had a wonderful summer so far. Boat trips, visits to parks, sweet treats, splash pads, bubbles, Chuy's, play-dates, felt board adventures, watermelon, trips to Bobby's Dairy Dip, Memphis, Illinois, Santa Fe, Kingston Springs, and Fourth of July parties to name a few!

We signed up for the Nashville Library Summer Reading Challenge and the girls are loving all these new books we get to take home each week. We are hoping we'll read enough to earn some passes to Adventure Science Center or Cheekwood. We also made our own version of a sand/water table for outside morning playtime. The girls are loving having tea parties with real water! We are also testing objects for sinking or floating. Gotta incorporate that Science where possible. Thanks for stopping by! I hope your summer is full of fun and new adventures!

Our first friend birthday party at Dragon Park, interestingly enough it was for twin boys, Grady and Thatcher. Jason and I went to college with Marshall and Julie Hall, the boys' parents.

What is it about the forbidden sink that brings hours of entertainment?

I used a canvas and staple gun to make a felt board. It's hanging in the toy hallway and they love playing with it. Planning to make more felt stories later.

Gotta keep with the yellow and green for John Deere family ties! The Bakers might notice this slip-up!

Mother's Day

Today was a very special Mother's Day! Jason and the girls gave me sweet notes and a new tote bag and a trip to get a pedicure. We had a quiet afternoon after Hillsboro, but it was a great day! Happy to be back from the beach with my tired lil baby bunnies. Love all these snuggles and feeling a sense of accomplishment for having made it through another service with two-year-old twin girls! Happy Mother's Day, Mom, Mimi, Grandma Golda, Grandma Baker, Grandmother Beard, and Denise! We love you all!
So thankful to have these little voices that call me, "Mommy!"

Our First Family Vacation

A very sweet, generous family from Bellevue gave us the vacation of our dreams! They own several beach homes and they mentioned we should use one of them for a week with the girls and at first we thought they were kidding, until they mentioned it again and then we started packing! Another family years ago had done that for them when their children were little, and they wanted to "pay it forward" to us. I hope we can do that for another family one day. It really felt like time stood still for a whole week with just our family and the beach. We literally only played in the sand, water, and ate shrimp all week! It will be a trip I'll remember for years to come and I'm so very thankful God uses other Christians to minister to all of us in our time of need-even when we don't know we need help or a get-a-way. Very thankful we get to come home to such a beautiful city, because we didn't want to leave the  sugary-sandy, magnificent beach. Mary Char still asks to go back just about every day!

Thank you to the Horn Family! This is the link to their website if you want beautiful, convenient, and very clean accommodations right on the water! http://www.eveningtidevacationrentals.com/
We love you!
