Happy Halloween

The girls have thoroughly enjoyed this fall season. We dressed up as Peanut Butter and Jelly for Halloween and they were so proud to be each part. Elizabeth was excited because the Jif container had blue and Mary Charlotte was excited because she was purple from head to toe!

Jason and I attended Winshape, a marriage retreat in Georgia. It was such a wonderful weekend for us to get away and focus on our marriage and family. We also enjoyed getting to know a few couples from church better.

The toys at Kindermusik are always a hit!

For my birthday this year, we played at Dragon Park and had breakfast at my favorite place, Pancake Pantry. The girls loved "bears in the snow" pancakes!

Gentry's Farm

E and MC loved Gentry's Farm. It's a magical place for kids this age. A beautiful farm that's been operational and shared in one family for eight generations, it quickly became our favorite Nashville thing! The girls played in the corn mazes, slides, tractors, and picked out a perfect pumpkin. They loved digging in the wheat and corn sand boxes and gobbling back to the turkeys was a hit too!

Happy Fall Y'all!

One of my favorite times in Nashville is fall. The leaves changing on the hillsides is absolutely beautiful. I also am a little ready for some relief from the Tennessee sun! We busted the pumpkin dresses out from last year and our house is  already full of fall colors. This past weekend we had a wonderful visit to Illinois. We celebrated my mom's birthday with Pizza Man and Nothing Bundt Cakes. They had new toys for the girls to play with as always and the trip was lots of fun. We also got to see Becky and her kiddos. It's always good to catch up, even if just for a few minutes! We tried out Firefly Grille in Effingham for a date night Saturday night. It didn't disappoint! I've been reading some great reviews about it, but had no idea how awesome a restaurant in the middle of a corn field would be! If you get a chance to go, be sure to ask about how it all got started. I had the filet and J had the salmon. It's the best steak I've ever had and the creme brulee wasn't too bad either!!! The interior and exterior design were both equally impressive- primitive boards, glass fire-pits, and a gorgeous kitchen with copper and stainless everywhere. Our waitress was really helpful and told us about a few places to try in Nashville, as she had just visited our city. We also made a quick trip to our friend Reagan's farm to ride in her Jeep this past week. Elizabeth wasn't one bit afraid to drive, but MC quickly learned to fear for her life as her head was the recipient of a large Magnolia tree branch. Ouch!

Love and Hugs from the Nashville babies!

A few days ago, we decided to take the girls on an hour long canoe trip. This was a favorite childhood memory of mine from floating on the waters of the Current River in Salem, Missouri.

The worm findings were the most exciting part of the weekend for the girls...yuck!

We were trying our hardest to avoid it, but our next door neighbor gave the girls princess accessories. We've had to peel them out of all of it for bed, baths, and church!

MC, I love that hair!

Becky and I have been friends since Thursday School.
So good to see her and Nora & Atley.

Kindermusik

Elizabeth and Mary Charlotte started at Vanderbilt tonight! They are really surprising us with their academic skills! Never too early to start! Ha! We signed the girls up for a Kindermusik class on the campus and they absolutely LOVED it! I think it will be a great time for our family away from television, telephones, and household duties. Looking forward to investing this time in singing and dancing! The bells and shakers were the favorites from tonight! Happy Friday! I hope your family is doing well. Love and hugs from Nashville!
