This past weekend we got the girls out to meet up with other families that have twins in the area. I attended my first official meeting last week and really enjoyed connecting with other parents that are going through the same adventures we are. It really helps to get tips and support from other twin moms. It's amazing how much it helps sharing ideas and having input from moms that have older twins especially. The group here is called Nash Potato. Potato stands for Parents of Twins and Triplets Organization. One of the moms suggested we meet up in East Nashville for the Tomato Art Festival on Saturday, so we got out our double stroller full of babies, sunblock, blankets, and toys ready for the day. It was a little too hot for our littles for the whole day, but we enjoyed it for a couple of hours. The Tomato Festival had lots of neat booths as well as a great kid area and even a spot to smash tomatoes! Next year we may try the water slides and craft stations. Nice visiting a historical area with such beautiful architecture. I look forward to going back and seeing more of the old neighborhoods. I think this part of town will definitely be our pick for trying out new restaurants and shops as well. Not many chains, mostly locally owned, one-of-a-kind finds.
After the festival, we took packed lunches and headed out to Percy Priest Lake for a drive and a nature stroll. We saw deer and lots of wildlife. The girls loved being outside. We enjoy seeing their faces and watching them look around at any new experiences such as this. So much fun watching them learn about new surroundings!
The girls continue to do well in nursery class at church. The ladies are so sweet to them and it's been great so far because they have the same staff from week to week. Such a blessing to enter a welcoming room with smiling faces that know our girls by name. They also can tell them apart now without even checking the monograms on their diaper covers!
We had our own story hour at home this morning instead of the library because Mommy forgot to get the keys out of the locked van last night. I guess Mother Goose class will have to wait until next Monday. Oh well!
