San Francisco

So I was very ready to be on the ground again during the turbulent flight to California. Before leaving Tennessee, we wrote a will, took separate flights, and typed out important information for babies while we were gone. (Can you tell this is our first flight post baby and the furthest we've ever been away from them?) It was a wonderful work trip with Jason and I enjoyed windy San Fran so much. The food was amazing, the architecture gorgeous, and the "painted ladies" charming. The best part was coming home!

New House

In just a few days, another chapter with our family will begin. We are buying a house! It's in the country, on two acres, in a wonderful school district and a Cape Cod style to boot! We are beyond excited to have a place of our own that we can love and grow old together in. The girls will be making their first memories soon and I'm so thankful to be in our house where they will grow up! They seem a little disappointed every time we look at it and can't go inside. I think they will be excited to have a new bedroom and a big yard to play in. I can't wait to watch them grow up here!

Happy Thanksgiving!

This year for Thanksgiving we were in Tennessee with Jason's family. We enjoyed a delicious meal at Grandma Baker's house and enjoyed some quiet family time on the long holiday weekend. We also got to check out the Cheekwood Christmas lights, which were beautiful! It was a mile long hike under lighted arches, trees and flowers wrapped in white and colored lights. The girls loved it!

Henderson

We tagged along with Daddy a few days ago on a work trip to Henderson. It was so wonderful to catch up with so many! The McKnight's, Lowe's, Bloomingburg's, Bolton's, Jenkins' and Rogers' to name a few! Mary Charlotte thought the hotel was her new house and so she was jumping and running the whole time in our room. (We are getting a new house, post coming soon on that) It's always nice to visit a place that was once home. It's where Jason and I met, where we started our first home, and where lots of wonderful church family embraced us and had lots of patience as we learned how to be grown-ups and minister to their children. Going back to Henderson is visiting Mayberry.

It will always have a special place in our hearts!

My Grandma

To the lady who has always made me feel special, my Grandma Golda. I want to take a minute to let you know how special you are to me. My childhood was sweeter because I had such a treasure in my grandmother. Her name is one you don't hear often, but I think it suits her, she truly is golden. Some of my earliest memories include her. The summer she bought me a pony and encouraged me to learn how to play the piano, the times she would sit in the camper with me and let me play waitress, the times she read to me and our swings in the country under the huge oak trees. She could cook the most buttery, light golden egg to absolute perfection and I always loved to wear her nightgowns because they smelled just like her, with a hint of Estee Lauder and lavender. Going to Grandma's felt like going on a treasure hunt, getting to look through her shelves of nick-nacks and hearing stories of her working in a shoe factory and also hearing stories of the families she cleaned for. I'm very thankful for her and the relationship we have. I'm also thankful my girls  know her and love her too. Just yesterday Mary Charlotte had fishing poles out with magnet fish and told me she was going to catch one for Grandma Golda. I hope I can be as good of a grandmother to my grandchildren as you've been to me. I love you, Grandma.
